YOU ARE A TOURISM SITE MANAGER

Why should you act?
Image de Microsoft Edge

Why you ?

You can create change because:

  • You're in direct contact with the public. You're there to welcome tourists and guide them through their experience, providing them with information about your site. You are therefore a major player in raising customer awareness.

  • Tourism activities and services account for 8% of tourism-related GHG emissions (ADEME, 2018). As a tourist site, you have the power to reduce the emissions linked to your structure by adopting good practices.

  • As a tourism provider, your business can be negatively impacted by climate change: for example, if you offer canoe trips down the Ardèche river in France, you are threatened by summer droughts, which deprive you of part of your business and therefore your income.

  • More and more customers are including a responsible aspect in their choice of activities. Taking action is a win-win situation for both the planet and your appeal.

Why now ?

To become a change maker, you have to go through four stages that can be summed up in these words:

Measure - Reduce - Contribute - Adapt

Measure

Do you run an aquatic activity?

Climate change is causing a number of phenomena that could have a negative impact on your business. Among them, episodes of severe drought are on the increase, with a particular impact on river activities. The image opposite shows the Loire in France in summer 2023.
